Cheshvan-Revelation Rain
From a Hebraic understanding, October 29th marked the 1st of Cheshvan according to the Hebrew calendar. Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan, the beginning of the 8th month, is referred to as Mar Cheshvan… the time coming off of the Fall Feasts, particularly Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles).
Leviticus 23:36 Seven days (Feast of Tabernacles) ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto יהוה: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation (Hebrew word – mik-raw’- called out, bidden, rehearsal) unto you…
Symbolically, the number 8 represents putting off the old, as in the “old man” and the “works of the flesh” – hence sanctify, manifest, reveal, die, death; and therefore, by implication: New Beginnings, Marriage Huppah (unite, binding, covering of Yah).
Scriptures: 1 Peter 3:20, 2 Peter 2:5, Luke 2:21, Luke 9:28-29, 2 Chronicles 34:1-2.
Both water and fire are used in cleansing/sifting processes, which prophetically is death to our flesh and Life to our Spirit.
The word “mar” is generally interpreted as drops of water in regards to the 8th month. If we think of millions of drops of water, we get a picture of RAIN. Yisrael sends forth prayers for RAIN, for a plentiful rainy season, for a watery Cheshvan. I understand that right now some of the lakes are even close to being empty, which is disappointing.
The Hebrew word “mar” also means bitter or disappointing. I find this interesting, because from a dream interpretation perspective Rain generally symbolizes one of the following:
Life, Holy Spirit (Ruach HaQodesh), Word of Yah, trial, disappointment (as in “raining on someone’s parade.”) (or drought as a lack of rain).
Cheshvan is called the month of bool/bul. See 1 Kings 6:38 (בּוּל). Bul in the Hebrew refers to heavy rain, increase, produce, fruit.
Remember when the flood came (Yah was disappointed, fed up with the evil)… the flood destroyed all flesh according to Gen. 7:21. The Flood began on the 17th of the month. Interestingly the numerical value of the word Tov (good) is 17, but YHVH gave the bow in the cloud over the earth as a sign of Covenant…
Gen 9:15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

The times that we are in are “as the days of Noah.” After the rain/flood, there was New Thing.
Rain is symbolic of Yah’s Word ~ His Teachings ~ His Revelation as revealed through Yahshua Messiah. It is the spiritual, prophetic rain.
Deut. 32:1-2 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine (instruction, words, revelation) shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
The Rain of the Revelation of his Word is to bring life and fruitfulness to those who will come and receive. Those who will not receive will be left out.
Also, as an appropriate side note… if you are wondering how this can be the 8th month and also the 2nd month based on this scripture from 1 Kings 6, I will explain.
Cheshvan (Hebrew: חֶשְׁוָן), is the second month of the civil year (which starts on 1 Tishrei) and the eighth month of the ecclesiastical year (which starts on 1 Nisan) on the Hebrew calendar.
In Hebrew, Cheshvan is written with the four letters: חשון. The borders (the first and last letters) of Cheshvan are chet – ח and nun – ן, which together spell the word chen – חן, meaning “beauty.”
I asked a friend of mine what The Rainbow signifies for her, and she replied BEAUTY, Yah’s Covenant, and Life. I agree and I believe this study shows a picture of Yah’s beauty, and His nature, which is extended to us as we embrace revelation and have the seed of the deeper mysteries become engrafted (rooted) within us.
We can see the rainbow is also signifying the covenant we have in being able to receive deliverance in Yah, from carnal, evil ways. The revelation of His Word is what transforms us. We will experience floods of revelation as we dive into the deeper things. The rainbow, the mark of transformation, comes after the rain!
Moreover, here is more of an explanation of the letters that make up the Hebrew word chen or beauty.

Representative of Marriage (enclosure, unite, binding- under the Sukkah)
When you think of the early/latter rains, the rehearsals that we have in the Feasts you can see that we are clearly being prepared for consummation. Enter into the NEW!
Also, revelation rain brings us into repentance and transformation and through that reformation can begin to be at work in the earth. Simply put, the rain is spiritual revelation of the MYSTERIES of the KINGDOM coming to the Church for the purposes of calling the Bride forth.
In the Greek revelation is the word apokalupsis which means (appearing, manifestation, revealed), and it is from the word apokaloopto which means (to take off the cover, unveil).
Yahshua taught in parables to teach the mysteries of the Kingdom. He wants us to search out and understand the mysteries of His Word, His Kingdom, and His Nature. This will bring us into intimacy and oneness with Him. Revelation is an understanding or unveiling of the scriptures. The mysteries are the opening up of the Logos Word and the revealing of the Rhema Word. Understanding the mysteries means you fall under The Father’s covering and are initiated into His Kingdom Reign.
All life depends on water. Water is symbolic of prophetic revelation. Spiritually, we, the earth, need the washing of the water if we are to bear true, good and lasting fruit. The former and the latter rains come and cause the buds to grow into fruit.
Isa 55:10-11 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Kingdom Reality is realized through the release of Kingdom Revelation (removing of the veil), which is the veil of our flesh.
The Father gives us Revelation of the mysteries through the Spirit, Ruach HaQodesh, as we press into KNOWING Him. We come to know more of Him through understanding the prophetic utterances of His Prophets. He wants to know that He can trust us with His Word. He wants us to join His Prophetic army and Trumpet His Truth.
1Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Rev. 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Aleph and Taw, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
This season of Cheshvans is time for us to make us choice…it is time to choose to have eyes to see and ears to hear…THE RAIN.
In summary to the Revelation Rain study:
I see a message to the CALLED OUT ones. With the rain of Torah/Yah’s Truth being poured upon and revealed to us…we become His Word Manifested. We therefore transition from death of the old that which is carnal at enmity with Yah to Life in Him, in His Light, NEW in Him. Flooded by His love, flooded by His beauty, flooded in intimacy. That rain which has showered us…we take those showers of living water within us that others may experience the rain and want to be transformed as well. We will be putting off the old robes and putting on the new garment of fine linen. Forerunners AWAKE! Bring the rain! Let showers of His holiness purge, purify and cleanse us for transfiguration! Let revelation rain fall upon the dry, barren land so that life/Kingdom Reality will spring forth. Let the revelation rain fall!
