RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT

February 21, 2010

There have been many misconceptions about judging or judgment now and in times past. However, as we prophetically understand God’s divine plan in righteous judgment, we will see that the righteous judgments of God are what bring us into life! The word judgment in the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible means the “door of life.” Meaning, the function of righteous judgments is to bring one into life.

Rom 8:1-4

1              There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

2              For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

3              For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,

4              that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

(NKJ)

Righteous judgments are not meant to condemn you, but to condemn the flesh. It is meant to condemn our flesh and bring us into Life with Christ, and to those who are dead in regard to the carnal man, but alive in Christ cannot be condemned. As long as we are not in the flesh, but in Christ, there is nothing to condemn. On the other hand, when we are in the flesh there will always be condemnation or a sentence of judgment against us.

According to verse 4, the carnal man cannot fulfill the righteous of the law; therefore, Yeshua had to set us free from the carnal man by bringing judgment against the sin that fuels it. When we are free from the sin that fuels the fleshly nature we can then walk blameless in the ordinances of God.

Luke 1:5-6

5              There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

6              And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

I notice that sometimes a reason that some people may feel condemned is because they love darkness rather than light. It is because they don’t want their deeds to be exposed in the light.

John 3:19-21
19 “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
21 “But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
(NKJ)

I believe that part of understanding our role in God’s righteous judgment is found in understanding our role and our function as kings and priests.
Revelation 1:6
6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
(NKJ)

We love to proclaim to be kings and priests, and that is beautiful, but do we understand the function of a king and a priest? It is much more than a scripture to proclaim. A king walked in authority and wisdom, knowledge, understanding and maturity was given to him by God to judge righteously.

Such is the same for a priest. The priest, specifically a high priest, also had to judge between good and evil. He had to make righteous judgments. The priest had to where the breastplate of judgment which was also called the breastplate of righteousness, of faith and of love.

Ephesians 6:14

14            Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

1Thessalonians 5:8

8             But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

All righteous judgment had to come out those attributes: righteousness, faith and love. NOTE: notice how judgment comes not only out of the realm of righteousness and faith but also out of love!

Inside of the pockets of the breastplate the priest would put the Urim and the Thummim. The word Urim means lights or revelation and the word Thummim means perfection or maturity. They would use those two stones, revelation and maturity in order to bring righteous judgments. They could not judge according to appearance but by righteous judgments. Their ability to bring righteous judgments of God through not only revelation but also maturity with the revelation could bring the people into life. But as I noted at the top, the goal of judgment was meant to bring a death to your flesh and life to you!

John 7:24
24 “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
(NKJ)

We must begin to see the necessity of God’s Righteous judgments in the church. Yeshua said judge not least you be judged first. His point in saying it was not to say you are not to judge. But He was speaking to those who judge according to appearance and not righteously. This kind of judgment is immature and of the flesh.

John 8:15-16

15            “You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one.

16            “And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me.

(NKJ)

I pray that we would understand the beauty of Gods Judgments, to walk in them and come into life! Let the tithe of this word bring you into a harvest.
