ESTABLISHMENT HIS LAW AND COMMANDMENTS

Shavuot is a Jewish holiday that celebrates receiving. This year we celebrate Shavuot on May 28. Historically Shavuot celebrates the harvest of the first fruits. According to tradition it commemorates the day Moses received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. The Ten Commandments later became the foundation for both Judaism and Christianity.

For several days the Lord said ” I Write the commandments of my law in your heart you will be blessed.” So I saw the tablets of stone superimposed come forward from the spirit on and in my heart.

Our heart is a vital organ. It is where the breath of God is and dwells. The chambers in our hearts can also be seen symbolically as the chambers within the temple: The Outer court, The Inner Court and The Holy Of Holie’s. Our hearts are to beat as the fathers heart would beat. Our hearts are to be aligned with the law of the word, the WORD OF GOD and the law of promise.

In the  Strongs Concordance the word heart is – H3820

H3820 heart 3824; Hebrew -(lebab), lay-bawb ; from 3823;  the heart (as the most interior organ), used also like 3820:-+be think themselves, breast, comfortably, courage,(faint), (tender, heart) I-led midst, mind, x unawares, understanding.

H3823; Hebrew-labab, law-bab, a prim root; prop, to be enclosed (as if with fat); by impl. (as denom. from 3824) to un heart, ie (in good sence) transport (with love), or (in bad sence) stultify; also (as denom.from 3834) to make cakes, ravish, be wise Hebrew;

When God breathes His law into the tablets of our hearts we become alive. We become living beings.

The word living being in the Strongs Concordance is H5315:

H5315 ne-phesh, neh-fesh; from 5314; prop, a breathing creature, ie animal of (astr) vitality, used very widely in a lit, accomodated or fig sense bodily or ment) :-any, appetite, beast, body, breath, creature, x dead-ly, desire, x (dis-) contended, x fish, ghost, +greedy, he, heart, (-y) (hath,x jeopardy), lust, man, me, mind, mortally, one, own, person, pleasure, (her, him,my,thy)self, them (your)selves,+slay, soul),+tablet, they, thing,(xshe, will,x would have it.

H5314 naphash,naw-fash;aprim root,to breathe,pass,to be breathed upon,ie;fig)refreshed (as if by a current of air):-(be) refresh selves (-ed)

Writing the commandments of the law in our hearts is a blessing from the LORD.  Many might not agree with this Old Testament value because we are under the NEW COVENANT,so who needs the law? However, the word of God is the truth. Faith, repentance, baptism in water, and remission of sins were part of the law, as were also the Ten Commandments.

I shall establish truth!

Moses was looking at a mountain and noticed a bush that was burning, but it never burned up. He thought that was so strange! Moses decided to climb the mountain and see what was going on with this strange bush. The mountain was called Sinai. Moses climbed the mountain and saw the strange bush and sure enough it was burning, but it still wasn’t burned up. Moses looked at it for a while after hearing  a voice.  It was the voice of God, for God was calling unto Moses. Moses  responds and said, “Here I am.”  God said, “Remove your sandals. You are standing on Holy Ground.” Then the LORD continued, ” I want you to lead my people to freedom. Go to them and say ‘I Am’ He sent. That is my name for all generations.” The people of Israel had been in slavery for along time and now Moses was leading them to freedom.

After Moses had rounded them together, Moses led them out of Egypt the LORD God was with them. God took care of them on their long journey. He loved the people and the people loved Him. God asked Moses to return to Mt. Sinai where he gave him ten laws. God said, “These are My commandments which everyone is to follow.” They were written by God on two stone tablets. Moses took them and gave them to us.

Now, let’s see the Ten Commandments given to us by God.

1.I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2.Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

3.Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

4.Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

5.Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

6.Thou shalt not kill.

7.Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8.Thou shalt not steal.

9.Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

10.Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

Exodus 20:18-20 “And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.”

The Bible makes it apparent that even though the Ten Commandments were given to Moses on Mount Sinai in a magnificent fashion, that this was not when these commandments were actually instituted. They had already been in existence, just not written on the earthly stone tablets by the finger of God.

We know that when Cain killed Able that this was a sin, so murder was already a sin against God, before the tablets were written. We know also that the Sabbath commandment was instituted at the time of creation Genesis 2:2-3 “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.”

This was why the fourth commandment said “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Using the word “remember” the fact that the Sabbath was already in existence.

If there had been no law against worshipping idols, then the heathen were not guilty, because you cannot break a law that doesn’t exist.

All of the moral law of God had been in existence since creation, and verbally passed on from one generation to another. When God wrote the Ten Commandments on the stone tablets, he was reinforcing in a magnificent manner the importance of His wonderful rules that pointed His people to a loving relationship with Him, and with each other.

The Bible also reveals to us that the Ten Commandments that God wrote on the stone tablets and gave to Moses were duplicates of the Ten Commandments that are in the heavenly temple, just as the earthly tabernacle that Moses fashioned was a duplicate of the one in heaven.
God gave Moses the exact dimensions and blueprints for the earthly sanctuary so that it would be an exact copy of the heavenly sanctuary.
